We provide a wide portfolio of design and consultation services across audio, lighting, visual and acoustic projects, at every phase of a project. Through experience we have learned that the consultation process is cheaper and easier on the client when it is carried out during the construction phase.
Our highly qualified team has extensive experience and meets expectations regardless of the scope of the project. Using high-end tools and software – including EASE and Rational Acoustics SMAART v8 – we measure, calculate and model the optimum solution for your space. Where needed we are backed by the design teams and engineers of the manufacturers we represent: an international network of consultants, designers and engineers ready to assist on complex projects.
What an AV and acoustic design package includes
Sound Creations provides audio visual consultancy and acoustic consultancy for architects, contractors, project managers and building owners in Kenya. We are most useful early, during design or before finishes go in, when acoustic and AV decisions cost least to change.
A typical sound system design and acoustic design package can include, depending on the project:
- Brief and site survey: how the space will be used, audience size, existing conditions and constraints.
- Acoustic measurement: on-site testing of reverberation (RT60) and background noise in existing rooms, using Rational Acoustics SMAART.
- Acoustic criteria and design: targets for reverberation and noise, and treatment or isolation recommendations, with materials and areas.
- Sound system design: loudspeaker positions and coverage modelled in EASE, microphone, mixing and control layouts, and signal flow.
- Drawings and specifications: equipment schedules and positions to coordinate with architectural, electrical and structural drawings.
- Bill of quantities: for tendering or budgeting.
- Support through construction: reviews, site visits, commissioning and verification measurements.

Frequently asked questions
Do you work with architects and contractors?
Yes. We work with architects, interior designers, quantity surveyors and contractors from early design through construction and commissioning. We provide acoustic criteria, sound system design, drawings, specifications and bills of quantities, and coordinate with the rest of the project team so AV and acoustic requirements are built in, not added late.
Can we get a design without buying the equipment from you?
Yes. A design and specification package can be delivered as a standalone consultancy, so the project can be tendered. We can also supply, install and commission the system ourselves if you prefer one team responsible from design to handover.
