Case study: West Nairobi School auditorium

The auditorium had to serve both learning and worship. The school wanted even, natural sound across the room and a space that felt inspiring rather than clinical. We delivered an integrated acoustic, audio and visual design inspired by the school’s mission of nurturing the whole child.

Good sound starts with the room. Many school halls have hard walls, tiled floors and high roofs, so theatre acoustics and auditorium acoustics are designed alongside the system. At West Nairobi School we combined a curved acoustic ceiling, treated side and back walls, acoustic seating and carpet with the sound and lighting design.
